My wife and I will be in Amsterdam from mid May to mid June 2017, and were wondering if there is such a way to meet up with other travelers in Amsterdam at that time to share the experience? Strictly public coffees etc
Go to any of Rick's recomended restaurants and carry your blue book with you. You'll see others with their blue book and you can easily start a conversation. It's like you are on a tour but you aren't. You'll have common experiences to share but if you don't like the people you can easily move on (unlike a tour).
I've only just joined so am yet to discover what the Blue Book you mention means and how I get one...
kaosi, Richard meant Rick Steves guidebooks:

If you live in the U.S, you can usually find a good selection of them at larger bookshops, like Barnes and Noble.
Through about 2009 or so, Rick's books were all a solid blue, of a very distinctive shade. So, lots of people still refer to them as The Blue Books, even though they are now almost as much yellow as blue.
Here's an example of what they used to look like: https://www.amazon.com/Rick-Steves-Prague-Czech-Republic/dp/1566918197/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1486045186&sr=8-1&keywords=rick+steves+prague+2007
To get back to your question, you could post your travel dates here, as well as in the Travel Partners section, and see if anyone here will be in the same places you are on the same dates. Never post your e-mail, but people can contact you by private message if they wish.
Thanks all for your helpful advice. We will be in Amsterdam from 13 May to 9 June, with a 12 day cruise in the middle.
