March in Netherlands

Hi everyone,

My family and I will be in Netherlands for March break. Any recommendations on what to see and avoid due to the cooler time of year.

For example is Giethoorn and Zaanse Schans worth a late winter visit?

Thanks

Nate

What are the dates of your break?

If it's later in the Month, Keukenhof Gardens opens March 21. Even if you think you aren't a "garden person" the fabulous displays of tulips, hyacinths, daffodils and other spring bloom are magnificent!

Hi Pam,

Thanks for the reply. We will be in Netherlands from the 10 to 20 March.

We are just going to miss it.

I was in the Netherlands last March. It was a great time of year to go, and I suspect I saw fewer tourists overall then with the exception of the Vermeer exhibit at the Rijsmuseum. I visited Amsterdam, Arnhem, Nijmegen, Vught, Huesden and Delft. I'd do it all again in a heartbeat. As far as what to see, it depends on your interests. But I'd return to Delft anytime I could.
