I am looking at going to Maastricht for the weekend in mid-March. What would be your recommendations for Saturday and Sunday activities? I am traveling alone. Restaurant recommendations are also welcome. Kind regards.
There's often a market on Saturday.
Maastricht is a nice town, but there's not a lot of "sites". A good city for strolling, though.
Thank you Tom. I will look forward to the Market and lots of strolls.
Liz,
I am an American living in Maastricht. Did you complete your trip? If not, I can give you recommendations or you can contact me at: [email protected]

Are you driving, Liz? If so, one of my favourite pancake restaurants is a few km away in the countryside. Might be a bit chilly in mid-March, though.
Nigel, I'm often in the vicinity of Maastricht, so please share.
The pancake mill in Gulpen http://www.depannekoekenmolen.nl/ is what I had in mind. Its off the back road from Aachen to Maastricht - the N278, about mid way, not a million miles from the Netherlands American Cemetery and Memorial.
There's a nice bit of water to walk around, the nosh is good, staff friendly.
