I believe you mean the Cruise Terminal that is right behind Amsterdam Centraal rail station. Direct trains from Schiphol airport take 15-20 minutes and run several times per hour. Buy a ticket in the station, just over 5 euros per person, probably with cash, although staff at the ticket window may also be able to take a US credit card. Cards without a true chip-and-pin system are not widely accepted at train stations and supermarkets in the Netherlands.

Just as a reminder and so that it doesn't come as a surprise. There is a surcharge, relatively small, for using a live person at the ticket window. When you say driver -- is a taxi acceptable?? or do you want someone standing in the luggage area with your name on a card?

Thank you for you responses. Due to some medical issues was looking for someone inside to help with the luggage and drive to hotel. Hence private driver.

I would contact the hotel and for them to recommend a private car. They will know someone who they have used and trusted.
