We are planning to be in Rotterdam in May/June 2022. We are looking for a 1 Br/1 Bath apartment to rent to use as our base.
Any suggestions? We will be using public transit and the train system to get around. We have spent time in Amsterdam but never Rotterdam. Shortest stay would be 8 days, if our planned 'starting' tour does not run, it would be from May 21st to June 9th.
Any suggestions or places to avoid?
thank you in advance,
Lindsey
I can’t offer neighborhood or district suggestions, but I’d start my apartment search using Vrbo - app or website. They shortened their name from the former Vacation Rentals By Owner. They also merged with HomeAway, so that’s now also Vrbo.
I have had mixed results with VRBO. That was why I posted on the forum.
Thank you,
Lindsey
While in Rotterdam take a boat to Kinderdijk to see the 19 windmills. Sorry I don’t know about. apartments to rent.
Very good suggestion, we did that on the last trip, pre-covid.
If I can share 2 suggestions for Amsterdam, visit the Purse Museum and the Resistance Museum. Both are worth a visit. The Purse museum is located in a restored canal house with it's own garden.
I have also tried AirB&B but found the cleanliness inconsistent. Not appealing.
We’ve also tried Booking.com but have had poor experiences. Vrbo is still what’s worked the best for us, in different places, over many stays. None in Rotterdam, though. I hope you do find a useable option and have a great trip.
Thank you Suki and Cyn. Found something after all by the Central Train station. Checked out Magicstay site. This is version of VRBO based in France. FYI, you must pay the full bill up front with Magicstay. Currently trying to get a refund from them. Site shows my reservation has been cancelled but the $$ has not yet been refunded.
