Suggestions on what area to stay in Amsterdam this weeknd? Looking to shop-- be out of the mix -- but still have great shopping / restaurants, activities. Thanks!

I have no idea of availability or the rates, but we stayed at the Hotel Estherea last year and absolutely loved it. We were able to walk everywhere, never needing to use the tram. Quiet street, central, lots of nearby restaurants, etc. It was ideal for us, but I have no idea what you are looking for.
