Local transportation question

We're a family of four adults arriving at Schiphol for a two day stay in Amsterdam before our cruise. We will need a train from the airport to Central Station on the first morning, and then a one day tram pass for the second day. We don't need local trams on our first day, and don't need a transfer to the cruise. What's the best ticket option(s) for us? Thanks!

I would suggest buying 4 tickets to Amsterdam on arrival and 4 GVB day tickets for the following day.

Ticket to Amsterdam Centraal is 5.90 EUR with a single use ticket.
GVB day ticket is 9.00 EUR

Are you sure you need to use the tram? The city center of Amsterdam is very compact and walkable. Depending on where you stay you might be able to do everything on foot. If you do need an occasional tram ride, you can just use your credit card to tap in and out.

@mhdts; you’ve send me a pm, but I’ll reply here because I believe the answer is relevant to everyone.
If you want to use a credit/debit card to tap in and out in public transport each passenger needs to have their own card. You can’t use the same card for more than one person.
For details on how this works in the trams in Amsterdam, see here https://www.gvb.nl/en/customer-service/ovpay-check-and-out-simply-and-safely-your-debit-card
