We are visiting the Kroller Muller museum next month (Sept 2026) sometime between Tues. 9/29 and Fri, 10/02 during our stay in Haarlem. We will use the public transportation combo of train, buses, and the free white bikes the museum offers, as we will not have a car.
I have figured out the train/bus schedules, and we will go so as to get to the museum as close as possible to its opening hours.
I have 2 specific questions:
1) I read the following regarding the fall 2026 Van Gogh Exhibition"
In fall 2026, the Kröller Müller Museum plans to display all 88 of its Van Gogh paintings together, a rare and ambitious presentation running from mid-September 2026 through early January 2027.
I had not planned on getting tickets online in advance. I was hoping to just buy them at the park entrance on the day we choose to go (i.e. a day with a good weather forecast so as to have a nice biking excursion around the sculpture garden after visiting the museum).
Under normal conditions (without the special exhibition presentation), RS says advance tix are unnecessary.
So..wondering if I should re-think and get tickets in advance online, in case this September exhibition detail would create long waiting lines, or even make day-of ticket purchase unavailable. Any advice here?
2) I am assuming that both pedestrians AND bikes are allowed in the sculpture park? The website doesn't really say, but am hoping that is the case so as to get around a little more quickly than by foot. (We won't have a lot of time to bike around the rest of the park after spending time in the museum and sculpture park, and our main interest for biking is to see the sculptures.
I would appreciate any advice on these two points....thanks!
