Keukenhof Tickets On Sale

Keukenhof tickets are now on sale, including the combi-tickets ... prices went up a little but what surprised me is the return ticket is a separate cost (anything I have read on their website previously about combi-tickets never mentioned the return is a separate cost) ... also mentions in their FAQs the tickets can be cancelled up to 4 days out (minus a small fee), does that mean you get a full refund? ... just the entrance ticket and not the bus? ... just cancelled and no refund? ... could be a little clearer ... I emailed them for clarification, will update when they reply.

“ but what surprised me is the return ticket is a separate cost ”

Can you please explain why you think this? The return ticket is included in the price of the combi ticket. What makes you think you need to buy a separate ticket for the return journey?

I've been planning to do Keukenhof for years and have always been too busy. I would be arriving on the ferry at the Hook of Holland or Ijmuiden. I was waiting for the Combi tickets to come out, but see they aren't offered from Rotterdam.
I know how to get there by transit from the Hook and Ijmuiden, but it's a bit time consuming, so I'll wait and see if DFDS or Stena offer a ferry inclusive package as they always used to before Covid.
It would be so easy if Lisse station hadn't been closed!

My mistake, I missed the small italicized comment Bus trip is return

I'm also trying to book the combi tickets to Keukenhof. Although the website says they should be available beginning today, 2/22, I'm not able to secure a reservation. Could you please reply with the link you used to reserve combi tickets for this season? Thanks.!

Awesome ... thanks! When I select a time on the day I select, do you know if I am selecting the bus departure time or Keukenhof entry time?

Will - Since Keukenhof opens at 8am and I see the combo tickets start at 7:30 my guess is that is the time of the bus. That is just my guess.

Edit - Now that I try and purchase a 8am ticket it says 8:00-8:30. So that can't be a specific bus time.. So I don't know. Hopefully someone will pipe in with a knowledgable answer.

The ticket shows the bus departure time ... it says 'This is your travel and entry ticket in one' ... it doesn't have a specific entry time for the gardens, just the bus departure time ... it also says 'Your ticket will be checked electronically at the boarding point of the Keukenhof Express and at the entrance to Keukenhof. The ticket can be used once on the booked date for entrance to Keukenhof.'

@Wil and Kathleen; are you sure you’re on the official Keukenhof website? Because if you are, it should all be pretty clear and self-explanatory that the time you pick is the time the bus departs. This might not be as clear on some 3rd party ticket reseller websites.

To buy a combo ticket for the Keukenhof, follow these steps;
Step 1) Go to the official ticket shop via the link I provided earlier; https://tickets.keukenhof.nl/en-US/tickets
Step 2) Indicate how you will travel to the Keukenhof. To get a combo ticket, you need to click on the button that says “public transport”
Step 3) Select the date you wish to visit the Keukenhof
Step 4) Scroll down to the section of the boarding point you want to use to take the bus to the Keukenhof. For each boarding point you can choose between adult bus+ entry, child bus+entry or bus only. If you want an adult ticket bus+entry, you need to click on the “+” symbol of that specific ticket type.
Step 5) When you click on the “+” symbol a pop-up screen will appear with all the time slots that are still available. Right at the top of that screen, it says “bus trip is return” and below that in bold “select time of departure”. So the time you select is the time the bus departs. Select a time and the number of tickets you want and click on “add”
Step 6) Select add-ons to your purchase, such as the park book or whisper boat and complete your order.

On the day of your visit, you need to be at your chosen bus stop on the time you selected.

I tried to order a combi-ticket but I want to rent a bike first and enter the park later on. Is that possible? Or am I expected to go into the park upon arrival? I wrote to them to ask but so far, no reply. I'm guessing the time slot for entry is tied in with the bus arrival at Keukenhof.
I'll be coming from Haarlem. Would I need to take the slow bus to Lisse if I want to rent a bike first?

Now, I'm not even seeing combi-tix from Haarlem... just Amsterdam, the airport and Leiden. They were there last night. What's that about?

Could someone please clarify the best way to buy Keukenhof combo tix? The tickets.keukenhof.nl website sells the combo for 72Euros (2 people) but there’s another site, tiquets.com, that sells a "Tulip Festival Card” that appears to include the same travel to Keukenhof on Arriva and Connexxion lines 852, 858, and 50 AND the entry fee AND a lot of train/bus/tram travel in and around Amsterdam for a couple of days. https://www.tiqets.com/en/amsterdam-attractions-c75061/tulip-festival-card-p1018529 This would seem to be a much better deal. Thanks.

All, Dutch_Travellors instructions are spot on. I went to the website he recommends, followed his instructions, and completed the purchase of two tickets originating at Schiphol on the day and time I wanted. Bus 858 departs Schiphol at the time I selected, arriving at Keukenhof approximately 25 minutes later. The combi-ticket (includes bus 858 roundtrip and entry to the park) was 31 euros per person. All good!

All, Dutch Traveler, I was able to purchase tickets from the Keukenhof website for entrance and the bus from Leiden. There is a good map on the ticket pdf that shows where the 854 bus stop is in relation to the central train station. I have never been to Leiden so the plan is to do the RS Leiden walk after our visit to Keukenhof and before returning to Amsterdam.

Has anyone gotten a combi-ticket from Haarlem? I saw them available on the first day but now I still don't see that option.
Also: Can you take the Keukenhof express bus without a combi-ticket or does one have to take the slow bus w/o the combi-ticket?

I bought my combi ticket departing from Haarlem. I bought it 3 days ago. It’s strange that the option is not there. I don’t think you can go on the bus without a combi ticket.

It looks as if the combi-tickets are offered from Haarlem on Saturdays and Sundays. Looking for my own ticket options in late April, I was putting in random days and noticed that transportation from Haarlem does come up but only on weekends and in my limited search, not all of the Saturdays came up.

Maybe they are selling out? My ticket was for a Tuesday. I did put in some random Saturday options and noticed that the number of tickets available have been reduced. I did also notice that you can pre purchase a bus ticket/time without the entrance ticket.

A question for Dutch_Travelor (or anyone who know the answer :) ...

Thanks again for your solid instructions on how to purchase combi-tickets for bus 858 and the gardens. We purchased tickets for a 2:30 pm bus departure, but now find that friends want to join us and might not arrive by 2:30. I know the garden entry volumes are controlled by time slot, but I also read on one forum that our ticket actually gives some leeway on the exact time we need to board the bus ... up to 30 minutes early or 60 minutes after. Do you know if this is true? Thanks

In the FAQ it’s specifically stated that you need to comply with your time slot.
Luckily the FAQ’s also mention that tickets bought directly from the Keukenhof can be modified to another date or timeslot until 4 days before arrival by the link in the confirmation mail, provided it is still available.
So you can change your timeslot to a more suitable time.

I also missed the combi tickets from Haarlem. We were traveling and when I looked there were about 50 for each hour on the weekend we needed but two days later they were gone. We're home now and I reserved from Leiden. Not as convenient as from Haarlem but I'm just happy I was able to get tickets. Like Kathleen, above, we will also visit Leiden if we have the energy.
