itinerary suggestions from Haarlem and Amsterdam

HI, I have a conference in Haarlem in early June and thinking about flying from there to Munich and seeing Munich and Salzburg.

Wondering if anyone has any other recommendations from Amsterdam/Haarlem?

Thank you.

Use Haarlem as a base to visit Amsterdam for a couple of days, then visit Leiden, The Hague and Delft, all reached easily by train. Delft is very near The Hague. I much prefer The Netherlands to many other places in Europe. Give yourself time to see these cities/towns before traveling to Munich and Salzburg.

Thank you Suki.

Considering just staying in The Netherlands and doing what you suggest and not going to Munich and Salzburg on this trip....what do you think of that? Or spending the time in The Netherlands and then taking the train to Paris for a few days.

Thanks again for your input. I appreciate it!

The train to Paris or even London is really quick and easy. Maybe enjoy Amsterdam then take the train to Paris for a few days.

We spent the last week of April 2022 in Haarlem and did day trips from there. We never ran out of things to do. If you desire to go somewhere else I agree with the suggestions of both Paris and London. They are easy to reach from Amsterdam. I would save Munich and Salzburg for another trip.

I'd stay away from Paris in June, as the preparations for the summer Olympics will be in full swing, the advance teams on the ground, and many athletes arriving early. Enjoy the Netherlands and Belgium. Safe travels!

The Olympics don’t start until July 26. There are no indications to suggest that people should stay away from Paris in early June, almost 8 weeks in advance. Several people have reported on this forum as recent as this week that they managed to book hotels for early June for very reasonable prices.
Paris can be very easily combined with Amsterdam due to the highspeed train which operates between these cities.
