We have 2.5 days in Amsterdam. The spouse wanted to see Keukenhof, so we are doing that the day after we arrive. We are taking the 7:30 bus out there. How long should I plan to be there? If I want to visit Rijksmuseum (not Vermeer) in the afternoon, for what time should I buy the entry ticket? Is 2 pm cutting things too close? Thanks in advance.
Can't really answer this question since I don't know if you are more into the flowers or the art ... my plan is getting to Keukenhof at 8am, taking the bus back to Schiphol at 2:00pm, then getting to Rijks about 3:30pm (my tickets for Vermeer are at 4:30pm) ... some might say that is not enough time to spend at the Rijks but I know the paintings I really want to see (about a dozen) so I'm okay with an hour (give to take), then Vermeer until it closes ... I suggest you decide how much time for each based on your interest levels, add about 1.5 hours travel time between locations and reserve your tickets from there.
We did the Rijksmusem in August and spent three hours (no Vermeer).
Thanks for the responses - both of them are helpful.
