I have been reading about the Rijsttafel - seems to be like an Indian Thali? And way too much for one person? Also prices seem to be above 20 euros. So I am thinking of ordering an individual dish.
Anyways if you have any Indonesian restaurants you like please let me know. I am staying near Sloterdijk station but can use the train, tram, or Metro of course.

Most restaurants only allow Rijstaffel for two or more guests. My suggestion as a solo traveler would be to visit Sari Citra, in De Pijp. There you can choose your dish from a glass case, choose either rice or bamee noodles, and they heat it for you. It is delicious, and also halal, so no alcohol served.
Thanks for the tip but I found one on Warmooesstraat (Aneka Rasa) that served it for one person even though menu says minimum of two. Not sure the cuisine is for me - coconut flavors and peanut sauces. Maybe I will try one more some other time and choose a single dish.
Very close by I passed a Syrian restaurant so may try that in the next few days.
