I am male 76 and have an incontinence problem. Rather than carrying dozens of pads with me when I visit the Netherlands in May, I would rather buy them locally when required.
Last year I travelled to Switzerland and their main supermarkets had a wide range of suitable products.
Do the main supermarkets carry these products, like super plus pads you place in your underpants?
Thanks
Dan
a major supermarket chain throughout the Netherlands is Albert Heijn .
On their online supermarket the incontinence page is at https://www.ah.nl/producten/drogisterij?soort=9306
It is mixed women/men, but a little scroll should find what you want. You'll find that Tena is the provider of most - it is a major brand throughout Europe.
People all over Europe have these problems and there is always a local solution.
Have a good trip.
Hi Dan. I lived in France for several years, and they were readily available in supermarkets and pharmacies. I traveled to the Netherlands a couple of times, but I never had to look for them there. I’d be willing to bet there are plenty available. Now, you’ve got me wondering about my trip to Portugal in late May/early June. I certainly don’t want to pack a 17-day supply! Anyway, I just wanted to let you know we’re in the same boat. I’ll be interested to see what sort of responses you get.
Sure. Incontinence is not restricted to American tourists. Europeans have similar problems. If the supermarket doesn't have them, the pharmacies will.
Just checked with an elderly friend in Amsterdam and he advised that supermarkets and drug stores ("drogist") sell incontinence products - the word to use is "incontinentie". A common brand is TENA which makes pads specifically for men. Etos is a drug store chain and Jumbo is a supermarket chain. I just checked their websites and both definitely sell TENA pads as well as some other brands.
