In Amsterdam, What are Your Favorite Walking Tours, Canal Boat Rides, and Biking Tours?

My husband and I love going on walking tours and cycling tours.

What are some of your favorite walking tours in Amsterdam? Are there any cycling tours you would recommend?

We would love to go on a canal boat ride, what is a canal boat tour you have particularly enjoyed?

Thanks!

For a canal boat ride, we went with “Those Dam Boat Guys”.

I am going back to Amsterdam this summer, going to use Those Dam Boat guys because they were recommended by Rachel and Alexandra from Who Is Amsterdam tours, who are a treasure trove of tips and recommendations. Also, if you like food, Hungry Birds does a fantastic walking food tour.

Before you use Those Dam Boat Guys, please read their website. They allow people to drink and smoke on their boats. https://www.thosedamboatguys.com/faq-1
I’m not passing any judgement on that, I just think it’s worth knowing before you book. They do get very good reviews for their fun and informative canal cruises. You can always book a private boat if you don’t want to be bothered by other people’s smoke.

Look for Wetlands Ecological Tour. I highly recommend this unique experience to learn about the polder and its importance to the area.

Check out Eating Europe food tours. There are two in Amsterdam. We went on one last year and expect to take another this October. The tour is from 3 to 4 hours and includes many local samples. We have taken many of these tours throughout Europe and have never been disappointed. The one we took last year included a canal ride as well.

I use Rick's free self-guided audio tours when showing visitors around Amsterdam and found them to be excellent.

Going to be going again soon!
