Ibis hotel near airport

No suggestions, sorry, but I am searching for the same thing: a hotel with airport shuttle so I can get there easily, and close to trams or trains so I can make a quick trip to the city if timing permits. I am staying overnight in early May after arriving from Seattle, and plan to catch a plane to Italy the next day. Flights not booked yet as I wait for prices to come down. :-) Ibis hotel reviews that I've read are very inconsistent so I'd like other options....!

If you stay near Amsterdam central train station, you’re only a direct 13 minute train ride away from Schiphol Airport, and you can simply walk into the city without the need for busses or trams.
Hotels near the airport with a shuttle may seem more convenient, but in reality you can get to the airport just as fast by taking the train from Amsterdam central train station.

I have stayed at Citizen M hotel twice. Can't get any closer to the airport and the train station under the airport, it's a 5 minute walk. Based on the dates in your post however, I wouldn't stay there for five nights Pick something in city center, as has been noted already it's a 15ish minute ride to the airport from the central station. If you have a specific price range that might be helpful to list so people can give recommendations in your range.

I too am planning a trip to the area and had the same question. From what I see, the trains are very fast and efficient. I have found no shuttles offered, and even hotel-airport taxi services seem to be unpopular. I have an early flight out and hope the train works out for me.

@veryspecialquilts; every hotel in the area around Schiphol Airport has a shuttle to the airport. Well, except for the 3 hotels that are located within a few hundred meters from the airport terminal. If the other hotels wouldn’t offer a shuttle, people wouldn’t choose to stay there because the hotels can be difficult to reach by public transport. Details about the shuttle can usually be found on the website of the hotel.
If you don’t want to take the shuttle offered by the hotel, you can of course take a taxi. The hotel can arrange one for you. The official taxi stand at Schiphol is very close to the terminal.

We stayed one night at the Airport Hilton which is connected to the airport by a covered moving walkway. It was great. Also, there is a Sheraton Hotel even closer to the airport.

The Ibis Styles in the centre of the city is practically under the shadow of the Centraal station. Correct spelling, by the way. The station is currently undergoing renovations but you should have no trouble making the short commute to the airport.. I have stayed in many Ibis hotels and found them uniformly devoid of character but with highly competent staff, functioning services, and reasonable prices.

My family stayed in two rooms at the Ibis Airport. Rooms and connections were fine, although that was five years ago. My primary memory is that it was too hot to sleep in early August; they had no a/c. Shouldn’t be a problem in May.
