Hyatt Hotel Question

I have a lot of Hyatt points, so I intend to stay with my wife in the spring at either the Hyatt Regency Amsterdam or the Andaz Amsterdam Prinsengracht. The Regency is close to the Oosterpark and the Weesperplein metro stop. The Andaz looks to maybe be a bit more central - a little less than one km due south of the Anne Frank House.

Neither of us have ever been to Amsterdam before. We will have three full days to explore. We intend to see the major sites Rick recommends, but also enjoy walking around, going to pubs or breweries (not Heineken please), and trying to find some local spots of interest.

Would folks who are familiar with Amsterdam recommend the location of the Hyatt or the Andaz? And if anyone has particular experience with either hotel, all the better.

Thank you.

The Andaz on Prinsengracht looks like a great location. It is about a 15 minute walk to the Anne Frank house in one direction, to Dam Square in another direction, and to the Rijksmuseum in a third direction. I remember walking by it when I was in Amsterdam a couple weeks ago, but I have no direct experience. I liked walking on Prinsengracht.
