In April we will be staying in Brunnsum during the week and flying out of Amsterdam. We want to stay in Amsterdam for 2 nights before our plane leaves and explore the city. Can anyone recommend a place to stay? So many places listed on travel sights and I'm not sure which areas they are in. Thank you
stay at the IBIS. They have great service the rooms are clean a good size

Hotel Vondel in the museum district. Easy access to airport by express bus.
If one were to stay at the Ibis near the airport, how would you get to the city (Schiphol train station) and about how long would that take?
thanks
I stayed in the Ibis Styles and it was nice, basic, clean with a good breakfast. It is slightly nicer than the Ibis next to Centraal but almost as close to the train station. The train to the airport takes only 20 minutes.
Another place I stayed is near the Anne Frank house Hotel de Looier and it is slightly nicer than the Ibis Styles. This one is close to the express bus to the airport which is an alternative to the train and takes 30 minutes from this stop which is the end of the route.
I would not stay at the airport, Amsterdam is such a walkable city and enjoyable to visit.
Enjoy the trip!
Thank you everyone for your help!
I stayed at the Hotel Bouwer. It was very convenient to the train station. I had flight out to the UK and was easily able to walk to the train and then catch my flight. The hotel is on on a Canal and quite old. I liked it.
