Hotel INSIDE Schiphol Airport

Thinking about staying at Mecure Hotel INSIDE Schiphol on night before flight home to US. Anyone have experience/thoughts to share? The idea of going through security the night before our flight is intriguing. And, it means you don't need.to be there 4 hours pre-flight ..... a little more shut eye & leisurely breakfast. Thoughts?

We went through Schiphol twice on our way to Africa for a safari in August and the hotel was sold out.

We stayed one night on the way to Africa at the Hilton, walking distance from the airport. Also, there is a Sheraton even closer than the Hilton. There is a people mover that makes the walk even shorter. Still, you have to do through security and immigration.

I had an extremely bad experience at the Schiphol Airport Hilton and would not suggest it to others. I know other people have stayed there and like it, but I found they upcharged for literally everything.

I don't know about the Mecure, but the Citizen M which is just a short walk outside the airport down a walkway would be my go to choice if staying at Schiphol again.

I was looking at this location as well and noticed this on their website:

"Departing passengers should follow their way (after checking in their luggage) from the departure hall to security and immigration, and continue to the beginning of the F gates in airport Lounge 3 PLEASE NOTE: you can only bring hand luggage to the hotel!"

ETA: I guess I misread what "hand luggage" means....sounds like it just means "non-checked"

Thank you for responses. We were confused about maybe having to do security again due to schengan non-schengan. So we decided to stay at the Sheraton.

The Mercure Hotel is in the Non-Schengen part of the airport. Flight to the US depart from the non-Schengen part of the airport, because the US is not a Schengen member state.
To reach the Mercure hotel from outside the airport, you first need to drop of your check in luggage (should you have that) go thru security and then passport control. This gets you into the non-Schengen part of the airport where you’ll find the Mercure.
To reach your gate for your flight to the USA from the Mercure hotel, all you have to do is check out of the hotel and walk to your gate. No security and no passport control because you already did that.
