Looking for a hotel in Utrecht for my husband and myself for 2 nights. Want it to be centrally located, within walking distance of historical sites. Prefer boutique hotels over large chain cookie cutter types. Don't mind walking up stairs but do like quiet and clean rooms. Looking at Hotel Museumkwartier, Eye Hotel and Hotel Beijers. Does anyone have any experience with these or recommend any others?
No experience with those, but recently spent four nights in Utrecht. With only two nights, I would not choose Museumkwartier because it is farther from sites. (That was the first hotel I looked at when I was planning my trip, but I ended up choosing a vacation rental.)
I’d probably lean toward Beijers or Museumkwartier. Beijers seems like the best fit if you want to be right in the historic center but still somewhere quieter. Museumkwartier also sounds like a great choice — lots of character, on the canal, and still an easy walk to everything.
Eye Hotel looks nice too, but if a quiet room matters, I’d probably rank it a bit behind those two. If you want another one to compare, I’d also look at Mother Goose.
