Hotel for Amsterdam

In November, we end our Viking cruise in Amsterdam and we will remain in the area for 2 days. I would like a recommendation(s) for a traditional or boutique hotel or a B&B. 3-4 star with a breakfast included.

Location - somewhere close to central sights so we can walk around. In reading some of the past posts, it appears that the Conscious Hotel in the museum quarter is good.

And, if anyone has recommendations for mid-priced, casual restaurants, that would be most appreciated.

Thanks

In the beautiful Central Canal Ring area, near the 7 Streets, Hotel l'Ambassade on the Herengracht Canal. It is a series of connected historic gabled merchant's homes. Not sure about about included breakfast.

In addition to hotels, consider VRBO - maybe rent a houseboat; they have many selections.
Regarding restaurants, if you want to try a Rijstaffel (sp?) try Blauw or Saba Sebo.
If you want to splurge, get a reservation at Martine's Table - you will not be disappointed!
Good luck and have fun!

We really liked the Dikker & Thijs Hotel, Prinsengracht 444, Amsterdam City Center which is in a wonderful location within walking distance of the Van Gogh Museum, Rijksmuseum, Anne Frank House, Lovers Canal Boat cruise, and the Singel Canal Flower Market. It is on the Prinsengracht Canal and there is a tram stop right near it. It is a traditional Dutch hotel and you can choose a room which includes breakfast if you wish. We chose a deluxe double room with a canal view. I think you would enjoy it.
