Has anyone been to the Hortus Botanicus in Amsterdam? It looks very nice, not sure if it is worth the trip. Do you know if it is near anything else, to combine with a trip there. Thanks!
If you're into Botanical Gardens, it's worth a visit. It's near the Hermitage, Jewish Museum, Portuguese Synagogue, Tropical Museum, WWII Resistance Museum and the Zoo.
The Portuguese Synagogue, part of the Jewish Historical Museum, is not to be missed (http://jck.nl/en/page/locations). A monumental building, testimony to the liberal climate of the mercantile Amsterdam of those days.
And on the theme of religious tolerance the museum Our Lord in the Attic (www.opsolder.nl/en) is also worth a visit.
