Hollandpass or Amsterdam Museumkaart?

Hello!

We will be going to Amsterdam next week and I would like to purchase one of the museum cards. I am uncertain as to which card would be best for me.

I will be traveling with my 9yr old. We will be driving to and staying in a hotel near Sloterdijk Station. I plan on parking our car and taking the train into Amsterdam. We will be there 3 days and are planning on visiting the Van Gogh museum, Nemo Science Center, National Maritime museum/HMS Amsterdam and then taking a day trip to Zaanse Schans. If we have time, we will be going to the Anne Frank Museum. On the way in we will be stopping at the Escher Museum, and on the way home (depending on how tired we are, lol) we might stop at the Arnhem Open-Air Folk Museum. Later this year, we plan to go to the Delft museum for sure, but won't have time this trip.

Which do you think would be the best pass for this trip?

Thanks!

Yes, I've seen that website, also the one for the Holland Pass, and I'm overwhelmed and confused about the differences, tickets, etc. I was hoping for some advice from people who have used/understand the passes.

Thank you for your reply, though!

I don't know anything about the Holland card, but several years ago we kept Museumkaarts for a few years. Still have the (expired) cards. When we want to reactivate them that is easy. These years we don't go to the Netherlands as much as we used to - we keep being dragged to Italy ;-)

I would have thought that the Museumkaart is a great fit for you as they have no limits on the number of times you can go into each place, there are museums all over the Netherlands which accept the card, and for somebody living nearby there will be plenty of chances to use it - although to be fair all you give us is "Germany" in your profile and Germany can be quite big.

We got into all sorts of unusual museums. That's the great thing about the card - you can stop at all sorts of places you wouldn't have thought would be worth stopping - and they so very often are.

The floating floor house in Edam. The stove (yes, stove) museum. Various windmills. A water mill. A tulip museum. The open air museums. A Palace. All sorts...

There is really no other way other than painstakingly compare the offer of each pass.

I only know about the Museumkaart: it is valid nationwide, and it is very simple to use.

I suppose you have the question solved, by now. Hope the trip is going well!

I am a big fan of the Museumkaart! That said, it is not recognized by the Escher Museum. It is accepted at other Den Haag museums, including the Gemeente Museum, the Foto Museum, and the Mauristhuis.
One nice feature of the Museumkaart is that one can revisit the same museum, even to revisit one or two artworks.
