Never stayed there but the location is a little bit out of the way. Though it looks like it's a short walk to tram line 16 which will get you into the city center. If you are using Hilton points you may want to consider the newish Doubletree Hotel across the street from Centraal Station, you'll be right in the middle of the action, with tram lines which will take to all corners of the city and easy access to trains for the airport and excursion outside of the city.

Just spent 2 nights there. I would stay there again. Depending on your travel priorities, it may not be as out of the way as you think-it is a reasonable walking distance to Rijksmusuem and Van Gogh Museums and you can get the Hop on Hop Off Boat at the Rijksmusuem to get to central Amsterdam. Also, if you want to take a taxi from the airport, it's only about 30 euros to this hotel vs. 70 to those in city center.

I forgot to mention that there is a Doubletree next to the Central Train Station.
