We arrive in Amsterdam later this month and staying for 4 nights. I was late in booking a hotel so many of the recommendations are sold out for those dates. I have managed to narrow down two choices which are close in price to each other and appear to be in good locations for sights we want to see and proximity to the train station:
Hotel No. 377 (Nassaukade 377) and Amsterdam House ('S Gravelandseveer)
In reading both good and bad reviews for each, I'm trying to get a feel for one or the other and still can't seem to decide. Being Seniors, we have different expectations where we stay than we did years ago when traveling.
Can anyone familiar with Amsterdam provide some insight? Thank you!!
I don't understand your reply
Take a look at reviews of those hotels on booking.com. Those reviews are usually reliable, because you can't leave a review there unless you've actually stayed at the hotel.
I haven't checked the reviews, but I see that there's quite a difference in the overall ratings of these two hotels.
Just in case you hadn't noticed... No. 377 does not serve breakfast.
The location of both hotels is good. However, the overall review score of Hotel No 377 is significantly higher than the review score of Amsterdam House. Based on this, I would pick No 377.
Looking at the list of "Netherlands" topics it shows I have 13 replies to my inquiry. I only see 5, including my own. Does this mean the others were deleted for some reason?
There have been several nonsensical posts appearing on various posts on the Forum. I'm not techie enough to determine the purpose of these. So most likely they have been deleted.
Have a great trip.
The posts that are removed were spam posts promoting a gambling website.
Looking for a hotel in September and just want to say they're darn expensive so we may stay elsewhere and train into Amsterdam like a day trip.
We stayed at a B&B called The Nadia Guesthouse near the Anne Frank House.
Stayed a week for $1000. That was very cheap for Amsterdam.
The room was small but clean and the bath was just fine.
