I will be in Amsterdam for two days (Sunday, Monday) and would like some advice on accommodations near the airport and perhaps some advice on things to do as well for those two days. Thank you
This is my favorite hotel near the airport:
Hotel ibis Schiphol Amsterdam Airport

What to do depends on your interests. You should watch Ricks Amsterdam what to do video or look at one the guide books for ideas

Airport is not very far from the city. I would stay in Amsterdam.
The nicest hotel I've ever stayed in was one exit past Schiphol airport at Hotel Schiphol, a Van Der Valk business hotel. The suites are incredibly large, and the best values in the area. Their courtesy van takes you to and from the airport where you can catch a 15 minute train into Amsterdam's Central Station.

I agree it isn't very far to the airport so don't feel limited to that.
As for sights there are the standards like the Rjiksmuseum, Van Gogh, Anne Frank which are all also busy and hard to see for the crowds. Other less crowded ones we've visited are the Amsterdam History museum and the Maritime Museum. We've also enjoyed canal cruises.
You'll hear this advice from many but I'll say it anyway - stay out of the bike lanes unless you enjoy being cursed at or want to risk injury. Bicyclists there are many and fast.
If you are interested in the Van Gogh & Rijks Museums, I recommend buying tickets in advance online. Especially needed for the Anne Frank House.
Another idea that might not be so crowded is the Dutch Resistance Museum, wonderfully organized and curated of the movement of Dutch citizens to assist in the defeat of the Nazis. I highly recommend seeing this!
You may get more replies if you post this in the Dutch, not the English section!
I didn't know Amsterdam was in England!!!
