We will be spending a few days in Amsterdam in about 3 weeks. We aren't very interested in doing the full Heineken tour but would enjoy having a beer there. Is it possible to just go to the bar at the brewery without doing the tour or is the tour mandatory? Thank you for the help!

Sorry, you have to be on the full tour to get a beer there.

I went there a couple years ago. The "bar" at the brewery is not a bar you would really want to spend time at. It is there simply to sling out beers for those completing their tour. And you are limited to 2 beers per person. I did enjoy my two "free" beers (included in the price of the tour) as best I could, but then immediately went to a much more relaxing place to have the remainder of the beers I wanted to drink that afternoon.
