Heart healthy restaurant ideas?

Hi friends,

We are staying at Swissotel Amsterdam, as it is situated right in the middle of the city centre at the famous Dam Square.

I had a heart attack , age 60, this year. We , group of 5, ages 55- 84, with our elderly 84 year mother, on a wheelchair, seek your recommendations for heart healthy restaurant ideas, for lunch or dinner. Must be open on a Sunday or Monday. Will be using public transportation, or taxi. Visiting , late September.

Thank you, Dank u wel,

It's not a restaurant, but this is a nice place to pick up salads, sandwiches, etc., for picnic or canal boat tour. Loads of nice vegetables involved. Open every day. https://www.sterkstaaltje.com
't Zwaantje has several fish dishes on the menu and offers salad and steamed vegetables in place of the potato sides. The menu is French and Dutch and does lean toward the rich and hearty, so not for folks without willpower. http://zwaantje-restaurant.nl/?lang=en
I think you can make some heart-healthy choices with rijstaffel. We had a great meal in a nice atmosphere at Sampurna, https://www.sampurna.com. There are other rijstaffel places recommended on the forum. Study the menu ahead for the best choices for you.

I've tried several of the salads sold at Albert Heijn supermarkets and liked them all. I can't eat two restaurant meals in one day, so grabbing a salad is a quick solution. There are Albert Heijn stores all over, and the ones I've been to were open until 10 PM daily. The store at Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal 226 is very near your hotel.
