Hoping someone here may have an interest in swapping tickets or have advice for us. My husband was able to get us 2 adult and 2 children tickets for the Ann Franke House, barely! They sell out so quickly! The problem is our tickets are for 7:30pm on April 16 and we fly out April 16 at 11:30 p.m. I think it will be too hard to squeeze this in just before we leave for the airport. I am curious if there is anyone willing to swap for a day between April 13 (late afternoon) through an earlier time on April 16?
Yes I want them please! But I have no tickets to swap. If you can’t find someone, I can buy them from you - if they are transferable?
Hi. I don’t have tickets to swap but I’d really like to take my 13 year old daughter. I tried and couldn’t get tickets. If you still have them I would buy them from you.
Are you sure the tickets are transferrable?
The Anne Frank house strictly bans any resale or transfer of their tickets. Tickets are therefore NOT transferable and this post is a violation of the T&C’s of the Anne Frank house.
I found another traveler in a similar position, flight change and unable to use his tickets for the day purchased. We were unaware this is not allowed. We have good intentions, just trying to help one another out.
We had a guy in line with us at the AFH who had an extra ticket. At first he was asking for "face value" but just ended up giving it to some other folks. I don't think any hassle was given to either of them when we were admitted. Certainly "scalping" tickets is not allowed, but I think a transfer (at least in person) to another person is not enforced if not aimed at making money.
So MAYBE getting the AFH at a time you can visit comfortable - say noon of that day - would allow you a chance to interact with other folks in line and see if anyone will swap times with you? A long shot and it requires talking to a lot of folks (not my thing). But I don't know that it's "worth" the time and effort. We missed getting tickets our first time visiting, so made the effort to get them for our visit the following year. Sometimes, it just becomes a great reason to revisit a place - for the missed opportunities from an earlier visit.
It really doesn’t matter if it’s enforced or not or if intentions are good, the T&C’s of the Anne Frank house simply don’t allow any transfer of tickets. Due to the nature of the Anne Frank house, a hiding place, space and therefore visitor capacity is limited. In the past they had to deal with ticket scalpers buying up tickets and reselling them at crazy prices. It’s impossible for them to see if tickets were transferred to someone free of charge or if someone paid double the entry price or more. That’s why they now ban any and all transfer of tickets.
The T&C’s are mentioned on the website and the tickets not being transferable is highlighted.
