Has Anyone been to Winterswijk?

Hello,
I would like to know if anyone has ever been to Winterswijk in the Netherlands? My father would like to go visit for reasons of ancestry. I did find out it is a couple of hours away from Amsterdam by train, but am wondering what is there to visit or see for a few hours. I have not seen a lot of information or travel resources posted for Winterswijk. We were planning to make it a day trip from Amsterdam. Thanks in advance for taking time to read and respond.

I’m not so familiar with Winterswijk but maybe open air museum Erve Kots can be of interest. There is a brewery and a cheese farm too. For visiting you have to train some 10 minutes from Winterswijk to nearby Lichtenvelde-Groenlo railway station, from there a 15 minute walk to the entrance. If artist painter Piet Mondriaan says something to you there is a museum in Winterswijk with early work of him. Both museums are not big but think offer enough to spend an hour or so. https://www.ervekots.nl/ (website only in dutch or german) https://villamondriaan.nl/en/
