Haarlem hotels - ML Hotel or Amrath Grand Hotel - or?...

Just booked flights into/ out of Amsterdam and am starting with hotels, for April, 2024. Probably will stay four days in Haarlem before moving onto Bruges and Delft, ( not necessarily in that order.) The trip is two weeks total.

RS and many others here like Hotel ML. BUT we can fully cover the Amrath Grand Hotel with Avios, which accumulate but are somewhat difficult to actually use. That price is hard to beat. However, I thought I read a negative here of the latter hotel.
Both hotels seem to be close to each other.
What do you wise travelers recommend?

Also, the Flower Parade is around April 20. I'm trying to figure out if that is an event to attend, or an event to avoid because of the crowds. Looks like a smaller version of the Rose Bowl. I'm not quite sure of the scope of the Flower Parade. Should we be in Haarlem on those dates, or before/after?

Thanks for all your past generous comments, as you have have made significant contributions to all my trips.
Hopefully we don't bring COVID back from this trip!

I stayed 4 nights in Haarlem in April of this year at the Hotel Malts. Loved it. I passed on the Flower Parade but I heard the owner, Henk, telling some other guests exactly when it would be coming to town and where to see it best. If you time it right you could also see it on your way to Delft in one of the towns it passes thru. I almost did that but the town didn't look that interesting from the train so I just kept going on to Delft.

Don,
Thanks so much. I'm very excited about the trip but I'm still in the stacks of guide books stages. I appreciate your feedback. Safe travels!

Don,
One more question- did you feel the area was uncomfortably crowded around Tulip Time? Thx so much!
