We are making Haarlem our home base for Amsterdam/area. I am looking at either adding another night and making a day trip to Delft or spend the night in Delft on our way to Brussels. Any thoughts? Is Delft one of those cities which is interesting enough to spend the night in or is it not worth the packing up and moving.

It is interesting enough and I would probably make the move so I could spend a full long day there.

Delft is about everything you expect a Dutch city to look like. But, as said, it is a short train ride from Haarlem (44 mins to be exact) and hardly worth the trouble to change hotels. And I'd think Haarlem has just that little bit much of facilities than Delft.

The short travel time does not compensate for the time you'd lose changing hotels.
