We recently returned from Haarlem and can recommend two different b+b hotels that are very near each other on the same street. B+B Hotel Malts and MAF Haarlem. They are each very different, but have a lot of charm. Neither have elevators, but staff will help carry your bags. MAF Haarlem is a small and beautiful unique boutique hotel that has recently been bought by new owners. We were here for one night and were very happy with our stay there. Staff were very pleasant and helpful, and breakfast (extra) was wonderful. Hotel Malts is owned by Henk and Annmarie and is a lovely small b+b hotel. We were here for several nights and loved our stay with them. Breakfast is included with room price. They are both very close to where Bus 300 stops, and about a 10 minute walk to the train station. Lots of restaurants, museums, and shopping nearby. A bonus is that an amazing chocolate shop - Olala Chocola - is between these two businesses. Definitely worth a visit - or two...!!
Susan, thanks so much. We are staying at Hotel Malts this time, in April, so I am feeling very confident after your recommendation!
very helpful, Susan E. We love Haarlem and have not stayed there since our prior B&B closed.
@Pat, you will love Hotel B&B Malts! Henk and Annemarie are the best, and this is probably the best value hotel I’ve ever stayed at…so much nicer than the price suggests. One of those places where I felt at home right away. Perfect location, very close to a bus stop and to the main square, on a side street with some nice shop. Hope you have a great trip!
Maggie, thx for the additional recommendation. I'm counting the days, already!
