We are flying into Schipol and are considering going straight to Eindhoven to see the Glow Festival, stay over in Eindhoven and then go to Amsterdam. Has anyone gone to the Glow Festival in the past - is it worth spending an extra day? We have been to Amsterdam many times and so we don't need to do the 'tourist' things. What else is there to do in Eindhoven? Is the best way to travel to simply take the train from Schipol to Eindhoven and then take a train from Eindhoven to Amsterdam?
Glow is really interesting. They often have some interactive features, be sure to download their official app which also doubles as a guide. Early in the night there are more children around.
Just came back from a biz trip to Eindhoven on Friday. Direct trains from and to Schipol are every half hour and take about 90 minutes. There's not a ton to do there, but there are a number of good restaurants right near the train station, and I loved Trafalgar Pub. Don't know if the Philips Museum is worth a look or not....my client is a Philips spin-off, and nobody recommended it, so put that under consideration......
I stayed at the Student hotel literally next door to the station. Different, but reasonable. It doubles as a dormitory on certain floors. Nice people.
Yes, Glow is an interesting event. Each year has its own theme. Trains as you describe are the easiest way to travel.
