I'll be in Amsterdam in August and was thinking of doing a 1-hour canal tour. I'm wondering if anyone has experience with the Friendship Amsterdam canal tour company? If so, do you need to get tickets ahead of time, or can you get them there? From what I understand online, the first tour goes out at 11:30...is this indeed true? (I'm looking to do a smaller, open boat, simple kind of cruise.) Thanks so much!

Open boat tours need to be coordinated, for your comfort, with the weather; thus reserving them in advance is problematical.
Many of the tour boats have an open air section at the back of the boat
However according to their website, reservations are not possible; you just purchase an open ticket.
