Free entrance to national museums with wheelchair?

I use a wheelchair and have been very pleased to get free entrance for myself and my husband/companion to national museums in Italy and France. I wonder if this is true for all EU countries? I am not sure if I need to buy the Museum Card in Amsterdsm. If anyone knows, I'd appreciate your answer. Thanks.

The Rijksmuseum has the policy that the assisting companion has free entry, not the handicapped person. I don't know about other museums in Amsterdam, but if they follow this logic, I wouldn't count on two persons having free entry.

We just spent a week in Amsterdam and found that at almost all museums, we only needed 1 ticket for the wheelchair and my husband got free admission as the "pusher". We just bought 1 Museumkard. We were surprised that this also got us into museums in The Hague, Gouda snd the Krueger-Muller (sp) museum.
