Is bringing in unopened packages and/or tins of shelled nuts for snacking allowed? I'm sure foodstuffs can be purchased in Amsterdam but I don't want to spend the time looking for grocery stores. Thank you.
similar to your other question about the UK. BUT, the question is, which order are you doing things? The regulations from food into the EU (all of it) are different for travel from the UK than some other countries.
Here is useful information (government website) on what food you are allowed to bring into the Netherlands: https://www.netherlandsworldwide.nl/travel-netherlands/taking-food-netherlands.
You will find plenty of supermarkets and groceries around in Amsterdam. You can check in Google Maps what is around close to where you are staying before your trip.
Pamela, one of my favorite activities when traveling is stopping in a grocery store. I discover all kinds of things I never knew existed. A lot of products are superior to what I can get at home. Most of my souvenir shopping is food items.
If you have a chance, pop into a shop now and then. Who knew you could buy seagull eggs in Norway?
Enjoy your trip!
And you may want to try the local markets: https://www.iamsterdam.com/en/see-and-do/shopping-and-markets/top-markets-in-amsterdam-for-food-and-flowers.
Bringing in a can or two of nuts is no big deal. I live in Europe and when I come back from a vacation in the US, my suitcases look like I robbed a Trader Joeโs. No one will care about your nuts.
