May 3rd - Flower/Tulip Parade - where's the best place to watch from

The floats are good fun to walk around after the parade when they are parked in Haarlem.

I've enjoyed watching them pass in Hillegom and in Heemstede. Just find a nice place on the side of the road and do what everybody else is doing.

If you watch at the Gardens, which I hear comes through around 3:30, is it possible to travel the road to Haarlem after that?

If you try to follow the parade you will go at a walking pace or slower.

I appreciate your advice and websites here. I think we will get to the gardens by noon and then be there for the parade at 3:30. Then we can find the small roads to get to Haarlem, explore the town and wait for the floats to end there. How does that sound?
