Eurail pass best option for Netherlands/ Brussels that starts and ends in London.

4/16 Arrive Heathrow 10:20 am - Train to Brussels
4/17 Late train to Ghent
4/18 Wander Ghent, train to Bruges
4/19 Head to Lieden (may see Kinderkijk along the way. Haven't sorted out public transport system.)
4/20 9:30-2:00 Bike tour, train (haven't checked schedule) to Keukenhof Garden (We're aware of the weekend parade and increased traffic.)
4/21 Train to Haarlem for Corrie ten Boom, then train to Anne Frank (ticket times not yet released)
4/22 Explore Amsterdam, train/bus to Giethoorn Village or travel 4/23
4/23 Check out Giethoorn Village via train and bus
4/24 Train from Amsterdam to London
4/25 Depart Heathrow

We can't change Heathrow been arriving/departing airport. It seems a seven day pass is our best option and the to/from London tickets must be reserved ahead.

Anything else helpful?

Thanks so much!

That is an incredible amount of travel for 9 days. You have very little time in Amsterdam. That is no way to travel, stay longer.

I think you can use a Eurail Pass in the UK, but frankly, I never found a Eurail Pass to be worth it.
What you need to do is price each individual rail trip and see if the Eurail Pass pays off. It never did for me, of course, I always stayed longer at places that I visited.

You much better off just buying point to point tickets. Travel in the Netherlands is cheap.

Nigel---- they are stuck with flying in/out from LHR for a trip that is focused on Belgium and the Netherlands, and are now trying to make a palatable lemonade with the lemons they have.

Sadly they seem to be in this kind of situation ---

Some times the lowest price is not the best deal

Consider flying from Heathrow to Brussels at the start and Amsterdam to Heathrow at the end. It will save time and potentially money. Intra-European flights can often be less than the train tickets. Although the train looks fast you need to factor in at least 2 and a half hours (and more likely 3 hours to be safe) to get from Heathrow to onboard your train at St Pancras International and the same when you come back. Eurostar recommends getting to St Pancras 90 minutes before your train leaves and getting to Amsterdam 60-90 minutes before your train departs. Gates close 30 minutes before departure.

Then just use trains in and around Belgium and the Netherlands.
