We will be in Holland in March and April. In the past we could get in line for a ticket. Do I now need to make reservations for all galleries and museums? Just the busy ones like Van Gogh? Just in Amsterdam? How about Haarlem, Delft, Arnhem, Brussels etc? Thanks, Rob
The big ones yes. Don’t know about galleries. You’ll need to check each museum you are planning to visit for up to date, accurate information. I’d assume, yes, and check well ahead of time.
For Amsterdam you should buy timed entry tickets in advance online for the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh, and Anne Frank.
I recommend downloading the official app for the Rijksmuseum. You can buy your ticket thru there or online plus it’s a pretty informative app. There is a special exhibition of Vermeer paintings at the Rijksmuseum from February into June so if that is of interest you’ll need a separate timed entry ticket well ahead (which also includes the permanent collection). If you just want to see the permanent collection you can wait until closer to the time.

For the Van Gogh Museum you’ll need to purchase well-ahead online. When I went in May they did not even have tickets for sale at the museum, all sales were done online. They do sell out.
You will not need tickets ahead to the National museum in Brussels. Are you also going to Ghent? If you plan to go there and see the Van Eyck Altarpiece at Sint Baaf’s you’ll need to book ahead a few weeks out on the official site. Do go with the augmented reality program in the Crypt, then see the Altarpiece upstairs.
