I'll be in Amsterdam over Easter Sunday & Monday - anyone have any idea how much will be closed vs. open and where the best place is to find that out.
But the Rijksmuseum will be open on Easter Sunday. I have tickets!
Easter is peak peak peak time for tourism in the Netherlands and especially in Amsterdam and the tulip region. Everything you might want to see and do as a tourist will be open and likely very busy.
Most stores will be closed unless they cater to tourists. Other tourist attractions will be open also.
Don’t compare the Netherlands to other countries where things do shut down during Easter. And don’t compare Amsterdam to smaller cities and towns in the Netherlands. Amsterdam is tourist central, especially during Easter. Every business that even remotely relates to tourism will be happy to be open, especially after 2 ruined Easter holiday seasons.
In the rest of the Netherlands, things might be a bit different, but still tourist attractions and museums will be open everywhere. Also a lot of supermarkets will be open.
