Driver/Guide for Day Trip to Edam and Marken from Haarlem

We are a group of 4 retirees who will be visiting the Netherlands in early April. We are considering hiring a driver/guide for a day trip to Edam and Markem, leaving from our Hotel in Haarlem. Any recommendations would be appreciated!

I would recommend that you head the other direction to The Hague, Delft , Leiden and Rotterdam to go to Kinderdijk to see the 19 windmills in their original locations. These will give you a better view of The Netherlands!

we did a private taxi tour with:

we had the previous owner marius before he retired. we emailed him what we were hoping to see and do and left the rest up to him. i think we did #1 tour and we had a great time and he was good and a nice man. we also stopped to have lunch at a restaurant somewhere, invited him to join us, then he dropped us back off at our place in amsterdam.
you would need to ask arthur about picking you up in haarlem and what your want and hope for.
in center square a small place making poffertjes, a dessert looking pancake, was yummy. at kraam grote markt
hope this helps

take a canal cruise, so many to chose from. we did a private one with four friends (rederijdejordaan.amsterdam), picked up near tulip museum and cruised canals for about 2 hours with alcohol and appetizers. we had a great time learning the history from reinhard. and an evening cruise to see the lights and view of city from the canals with getyourguide.com: amsterdam: evening canal cruise

blocks and blocks on a pedestrian only street. everything and anything to see. produce, shops, stores, food, souvenirs, stopped for lunch and glass of wine. we had a good day for a few hours, bought an oil painting of scenes in amsterdam for family in hawaii.
little bit more than you asked. been twice and loved it, beware of all the bikes bikes bikes everywhere, sat at rembrandt plaza for cocktails, people selling things under tarps, people watch and relaxing on the grass, no surprise with marijuana in the air. not a big deal. took a pedicab ride to the red light district, look at the church, it is an absolute gorgeous canals and bridges with its architecture, restaurants to have lunch during daytime. enjoy

If you can arrange it, go to Edam on a wednesday morning early for the cheese market. It was the most fun you can have watching cheese being carried around.
