Does anyone know if the multi-day tram passes can be used to take the train from Schiphol Airport into Amsterdam Central station?
They don't. Buy a separate train ticket for €5 each way.
Thank you!
Laura, according to the website they DO cover that section:

There are different kinds of multi-day tram passes. You can buy a 1-7 day tram, metro, and bus ticket for €7.50 - €32. These DO NOT include transportation to and from Schipol. These passes are valid on a 24 hour basis. The 24 and 48 hour tickets can be bought on trams from the conductor.
There is another kind of pass, called the Amsterdam Travel Ticket (which is new in 2015), that can be purchased for 1 - 3 days and costs €15 - €25, and this does include the train to and from Schipol. Beware that this ticket is valid on a "day" basis, rather than a "24 hour" basis.
If you pay separately for the ticket to Schipol, it's about €4 - €5 each way.
This is a great site I used before going to Amsterdam last month. http://www.amsterdamtips.com/tips/transport-tickets.php
Enjoy Amsterdam!!
