I have a CPAP machine that requires the use of distilled water. We coming to Amsterdam and will be staying in Zaandam. Can this be purchased at a grocery store or a pharmacy?
Thanks
Of course, they have CPAP machine in Europe also.
Albert Heijn grocery store the most locations sells purified water
You can also just use European bottled water. It is not going to kill any CPAP user. Many places in Europe have fine tap water.
thank you very much
I agree with David - you use distilled water in a CPAP because over time, regular water will cause buildup in the water pan. However, for the short amount of time most people are in Europe, bottled water will do very well.
I've chosen to travel without the humidifier. Less weight and hassle and not an issue short-term. I normally use a low setting, anyway. Just a thought, unless not using the humidifier is more of a problem for you.
just a follow-up to my question.
Grocers carry purified water which is not distilled.
And yes purified water will work just fine for a short period of time.
We found distilled water at the hardware store.
I’ve found distilled water at a drug store in the baby section before.
Thanks!
Good resources :-)
We found distilled water at the hardware store.
That is an interesting tidbit of info. It never occurred to me to look there.
I've just used regular tap water for my CPAP in Amsterdam, and no issue. I do remember casually looking in the big Albert Heign store at Schipol and didn't see it. However I didn't ask. I would think that store would be your best bet.
