Direct Train From Amsterdam to Zurich

Can anyone tell me which station in Amsterdam to take a direct train to Zurich, Switzerland? It's too early to book as I'm looking for early October to catch a tour but there is more than one station. Also we're seniors so the cost is less?

Thanks,

Jean

What do you mean by direct??? Non-stop? No change? The best you can do is one change in Paris but that is also a change of stations. It is about a nine hour trip. This is a case where a flight -- maybe a discount airline -- would be more efficient. What are you trying to accomplish?

It is a long journey of 8.5 to 9.5 hours at a minimum. The only direct train in the fall is a night train, departing Amsterdam around 22:30 and arriving in Zurich at 8 am. Is that what you want?

Otherwise, there are daytime trains with one connection in Germany or in Basel, taking the same length of time. This would be less expensive than a night train with sleeping accommodations.

The best way to get a good price is to book well in advance ( up to 6 months ahead), but recognize that these advance tickets are generally non-refundable and not flexible ( limited to the train you book).

Oh gee, was hoping to get a direct no change train in October; don't mind stops but don't want to connect. I do not want to travel overnight. I guess I could get a one change train.

Thanks,

Jean

There is nothing wrong with the overnight train, it is an good way to save bit of money and time. But otherwise there are plenty of one stop options with a change somewhere in Germany.

I don't know if EasyJet flies that route but their service is good and reasonable. I compare them to Swest here in the states. When I did a quick train check earlier the one change I saw was in Paris but it was also a change of station so find a one change in the same station.
