We leave for a cruise on 11 June from Amsterdam. We will travel to Amsterdam from London by Eurostar, staying 3 nights in Bruges and then have 4 nights in the Netherlands before the cruise.
A quick glance at hotel prices shows Amsterdam is pretty expensive on Friday 9 and Saturday 10 June. Might it be better to spend 2 nights in Delft and then 2 nights in Haarlem and not stay in Amsterdam until after the cruise (Sunday 25 June)?
Delft and Haarlem are both good cities to stay, and the same is true for Leiden or Utrecht. There is no need to change hotels. You can easily visit Haarlem from Delft or the other way around: they are only 45 mins apart by frequent train (every 15 mins, alternatingly direct or with a change at Leiden). There is also no need to be close to Amsterdam to pick up your cruise: Amsterdam Centraal can be reached from Delft by the same trains, taking 1 hour.
