Is brewed decaf or decaf espresso readily available in The Netherlands? Often in Europe it’s hard to get.
Café Hag is what to ask for
I’m Dutch and I’ve never heard people ask for a Cafe Hag when they want a decaf coffee. Perhaps this is a typo? In Dutch a decaffeinated cup of coffee is called “a decafe” as in “can I have a decafe please?” But every waiter will also understand you if you ask for a decaf.
Café HAG is more a German thing. Decaf is widely available. Just check the list of coffees served when sitting down but I would be surprised if they don’t serve decaf (maybe not in local bars but definitely in coffee bars).
glad for the clarification. I drink full whack coffee so was relying on little grey cells which had been taught many years ago.
Always good to go to the source.
I will just add that you are more likely to find an Americano made with decaf (espresso and hot water) than brewed coffee.
But, yes, there are lots of coffee places, language is not an issue, and decaf is available nearly in every one of them.
