How much time is needed to make a connection at Amsterdam airport
There are many factors - where you're coming from, where you're going, what time of day, what time of year, etc. If you search the forum for "short connection [or layover] Amsterdam" you'll get a whole bunch of opinions on that topic. Here's just one example https://community.ricksteves.com/travel-forum/netherlands/1-hour-connection-at-ams-to-lis
We flew through AMS last month--making connections from Athens to Atlanta.
Our travel agent said 50 minutes would be sufficient time to make the flight. But she didn't say we had 1/2 mile between terminals. And my wife was on a folding personal scooter since she's mobility challenged.
I couldn't keep up with her. We barely made our connecting flight.
Do yourself a favor and allow 1.5 hours or longer if you're flying to the U.S. and connecting there.
I don't think we've ever had more than 70 minutes for a connecting in Schipol. And the 70, was when we really didn't need it since we were on our way to Istanbul, thus didn't clear security in Amsterdam. At least twice we've had connectings of about 50 minutes. I wouldn't recommend it, but we made it. If your flights are connected then the airline is responsible to get you to your destination and will reschedule you. One time when we were concerned about the connecting time and checked our options, we realized that should we want more time, we'd be waiting about 5 hours. (We were going to Krakow).
So many factors are involved and we have no information to go on. For example, are you en route to a nonSchengen country? What time of day? Are there additional flight times available that day to you to your destination? If so, do you want to pay a price difference? What is the history of the flight? Where will you be sitting on the plane? Will you check luggage? We very rarely check luggage at the start of a trip. If I did, I would want a longer connecting time to make sure my luggage makes the connecting.
There are lots of similar posts. If you search the forum you will find lots of opinions.

On a single ticket?
Connecting from where to where?
I agree we need more information.
I transited last summer from the US to Scotland where you just stay in the international terminal and don't need to go thru Immigration and Security. I literally could have done either going or coming in 30 minutes BUT I'd never book that in case a flight was late! I might have managed the "going-back-home" transit in 15 minutes as the bus from the plane to the terminal dropped us about 3 gates down from where my Seattle flight departed from.
Last year we had a 55 minute connection that was trimmed down to 45 minutes due to a flight delay. We actually made it from touch down, through immigration, to our next gate in 25 minutes. They were holding the plane for us. The bad thing is that our luggage didn't make it. And what I've learned over the past few years is that if your luggage gets delayed in Amsterdam, they are in absolutely no rush to get it to you. Three long days later (in Sicily) our bags finally arrived....
