I need to know if I’m right. I did check the online site but I’m still not confident. I’m flying on a single ticket from JFK to Thessaloniki on KLM/Delta with a layover in Amsterdam. My checked luggage should be checked through correct? I only need to go through passport control? I have a 3 hour 45 minute layover which by all I’ve read is more than enough. Gives me a cushion if JFK is delayed.
Yes. When you give them the bag at checkin JFK you will see them put the bag tag on a you will get a claim check.
The bag tag will have the airport code SKG listed at the top for Thessaloniki Airport this indicates the final destination and then below that AMS for Amsterdam Schipol Airport which indicates the transfer airport. You will get a claim check that will spell this out as well.
Don't forget everything you are asking here online you can ask again when you checkin at JFK.
I use to be a passenger agent for Virgin Atlantic at O'hare Airport so....
As you bought it as a single ticket, your luggage should go through. When you check in be sure they tag it correctly
I see on Delta's site showing bookings with as little as a 1 hr 50min layover. You should be fine.
You should have more than enough time (unless your outbound flight is more than 3 hours late, which though highly unlikely, is always theoretically possible). You'll be fine.
Thank you everyone. Good tips and now I can sleep soundly.
