I'm headed to Netherlands soon.
I thought while I was there I'd go see some Caves or Gorges --
I can't find anything that's a standout --
Anyone have recommendations?
No hope. The Netherlands is flat. For most of the country the height above sea level is in single figures (in metres), or negative. Caves and Gorges need rocky hills.
A friend recommended a cave area near this castle https://www.kasteelvalkenburg.nl/en/ in southeast Netherlands. The caves have an interesting history. They are concentrated in the southeast near Maastricht.
South of Maastricht there are caves too, but (those Mona referring too) are man made, the stories make a visit interesting like Rembrandt’s The Night Watch was hidden there during WOII: https://www.maastrichtunderground.nl/eng
