Will it be difficult to rent a car at Schipol to return to CDG in France this summer? Do you anticipate difficulty finding gas?
Not difficult, but probably very expensive.
I think it depends - I know there have been a lot of reports of high car rental prices, but I just rented a car through AutoEurope for a May trip to Germany (four day rental) that was only $130. Granted, it was an Economy size car and manual transmission, but I think it's going to depend on where you are and where you are going to.
You can certainly try it. Go to the AutoEurope website and plug in your dates and cities and see what you get.
You may face a high drop off fee for a one-way rental. Another recommendation for AutoEurope. I have rented through them many times and never had a problem.
One way drop fee likely to be $600+ , in addition to the basic rental charge
Thank you, friends! We have a car, and yes, it is expensive!
And to the cost of actually renting the car you need to add petrol (€2/l) road tolls and parking costs. On the other hand, the area you mention has excellent public transportation, so where are you actually going?
Thanks, Badger, for your help and advice. We are actually using public transport but also want to drive to Belgium and France. And we have made all the arrangements. Thanks again!
